My mother used to be a singer and dancer on the Great Barrier Reef back in the 80s. She sang jazz and classics and new things and they had sweet Tahitian themed nights, all of which have left me with many a nice dress to steal.

My dad was a barman on the island and this is how they met. He fell in love with her and they used to meet up at dawn after work and get burgers in their ballgowns and suits. 

It was way too many years before I realised how freaking cool their story was.
